The ownership team members at Electric Cycle Studio are all Bakersfield natives that provide a unique blend of instructor, rider, and business points of view. Patrick and Ashlee Bailey are a husband-and-wife team that developed the concept of Electric Cycle Studio; Patrick brings his financial knowledge and background for the behind-the-scenes work necessary to bring Electric’s vision to life. Ashlee’s experience as an avid rider allows the team to build a tailored experience unique to the member’s perspective. Kathy Burgos is the key ingredient in delivering high-energy spin classes to beginners and cycling enthusiasts alike, where the experience is everything. She has been spinning for ten years, with five of those being up on the podium as an instructor. They believe that the combination of these diverse perspectives will transform our community’s fitness through powerful spin classes at Electric.

“Our passion and drive to provide the community with a space that leads curated spin classes in an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere is the foundation for our vision. Our decision to remain locally owned is strategic,” says Ashlee Bailey, owner.

Electric Cycle Studio’s rhythm-based, indoor cycling classes may look like a leg-focused cardio workout, but it’s so much more than that. From arm weights to mental fortitude, your mind, body, and soul will be energized, connected, and well taken care of. The low-impact workout each class provides allows riders to choose their intensity and modify it as needed. Electric Cycle Studio will have multiple options for the community to experience the good rides and electric vibes of their studio.

“We are ecstatic to be opening our doors to the community and remind everyone that they can do hard things. We want you to feel welcome upon entry, powerful while riding, and energized as you leave. Electric Cycle Studio will empower and elevate everyone who steps through our doors,” adds owner Patrick Bailey. As Phase 1 of the construction completes, Bolthouse Properties looks forward to commencing construction of Phase 2 later this summer. “There’s a lot of buzz in anticipation of what is to come at Belcourt Village! We’ve been specifically focused on local eateries to support the new tenants and growing community and are excited to welcome Blue Elephant to Seven Oaks next Spring. Their addition will provide neighboring residents and businesses an alternative sit-down dining option right in their backyard,” says Executive Vice President of Development, Bruce Davis.

Over the coming months, as the community begins to enjoy the new offerings at Belcourt Village, expect to hear more exciting revelations about Phase 2. For the latest developments on Belcourt Village, visit online at vjsandbox.webmarkdev.com/.

  • From Dreams to Reality!

    From Dreams to Reality!

Bolthouse Properties is excited to announce this month marks the opening of Phase I of the coveted Belcourt Village to the Seven Oaks community! When complete, this destination lifestyle center will span 9.5 acres encompassing eleven separate structures woven together with meandering walkways, gathering spaces, and lusciously landscaped common areas.

Phase 1 tenants include Starbucks, which will open this month, followed by local businesses Electric Cycle Studio and Pilates Barre in June.

“When I decided to open a studio, I knew I wanted it to be more than just a studio. I wanted to create a community and an environment that encouraged people to come as they are. I wanted to create a space that bridged the gap between small boutique studios and big chain types. A place where people could come and escape the outside world for a moment and rejuvenate their physical, emotional, and mental well-being. And that is what our members will find when they walk through the doors of Pilates Barre,” reflects owner Irene Clancy.

Pilates Barre will provide low-impact classes, which over time can help the body change and grow through movement. These classes are designed to build strength while increasing flexibility and mobility. The studio will be led by Irene, herself who has taught more than 3,000 classes to date!

The site will feature two separate studios with two different offerings that will allow Pilates Barre to provide members with a wider class variety and greater flexibility in time. While Studio A will
house their 10 Pilates reformer/tower beds, Studio B will serve as the Fit Room.  Here members will find modern, energetic, and endlessly creative classes such as barre, PHIIT, TRX cardio, dance HIIT, yoga, and more! Additionally, there will be a Recovery Lounge with self-serving deep tissue massage rollers with the option of infrared lights, aimed at helping cells regenerate and repair, promoting faster healing and overall wellness.

To learn more about Pilates Barre membership options visit BakersfieldPilatesBarre.com.

“As fellow Seven Oaks residents, it was important for Irene and her husband, Scott, to open their studio within the community they live in and have raised their family. This embodies the live-work–play lifestyle Bolthouse Properties has created within the Master Plan of Seven Oaks. We are thrilled to welcome Pilates Barre and look forward to their opening,” says Bolthouse Properties Executive Vice President of Development, Bruce Davis.

Next month, we will look closely at Electric Cycle Studio to learn more about its offerings. For the latest developments on Belcourt Village, visit online at vjsandbox.webmarkdev.com/.

  • Belcourt Village: A Destination Lifestyle Center

Belcourt Village: A Destination Lifestyle Center

Seven Oaks is already one of the most desirable communities to call home in Bakersfield, but the impressive southwest community is about to get even better with the opening of the Belcourt Village shopping center in spring 2022.

But don’t build a mental picture of a typical retail center seen around Bakersfield. Part of Bolthouse Properties’ Seven Oaks master-planned community, Belcourt Village has been designed as a destination center and gathering place — a place where neighbors meet for coffee, friends meet for lunch, and where families enjoy each other’s company after dinner.

“This is not a drive-thru shopping center,” said Bruce Davis, Bolthouse Properties Senior Vice President of Development. “This is a gathering space — intentionally planned and designed with the community in mind.”

The master-planned community that began with the original Seven Oaks residential development and golf course will eventually encompass more than 1,200 acres west of Buena Vista Road and include a mix of residential communities, retail centers, and the growing Seven Oaks Business Park.

At the southwest corner of White Lane and Buena Vista Road, Belcourt Village was designed with open spaces that include seating and lounge areas, firepits, intentional and decorative lighting, sustainable landscaping, a play area, pedestrian linkage to surrounding neighborhoods, and specifically
curated businesses that promote the “stay awhile” feeling.

“We want people to spend time there,” said Bolthouse Properties Vice President of Development Jeff Eittreim. “And that has a lot to do with the businesses in the center.”

“The businesses are our partners in this development. We want them to succeed in this location, and they want the development to succeed,” he said.

It’s that philosophy that has led Bolthouse to focus on specific kinds of businesses to partner with.

Starbucks will kick-off the 9.5-acre center in the spring followed by two fitness studios — The Pilates Barre and Electric Spin Club.

“I met with a few different agents in Bakersfield and looked at locations in other areas,” Pilates Barre owner Irene Clancy said. “[Belcourt Village] is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I feel like I’m part of a team with Bolthouse and not just someone opening a business.”

Clancy has been teaching pilates locally for several years and is looking forward to opening her own studio with its focus on overall wellness and the mind/body connection.

“Bolthouse is providing Bakersfield residents with something we don’t currently have,” she said. “They are taking care to provide residents with an experience and not just another shopping center.”

Patrick Bailey of the Electric Spin Club echoed those sentiments.

“So many properties are owned and managed by people outside of Kern County,” said Patrick Bailey of Electric Spin Club. “[Bolthouse] cares as much as we care about the business.”

Bailey, along with his wife Ashlee and business partner Kathy Burgos are excited to open the indoor cycling studio in the growing community.

Bringing in the design team of Lifescapes International was key to building the center as envisioned, to flow with the overall “Live, work, play” focus of the community.

“[Lifescapes International] is known for designing spaces where people want to be,” Eittreim said.

In addition to numerous indoor spaces around the globe, the Lifescapes team designed The Grove in southern California — a popular destination shopping center with water features, streetscapes, event space, and an overall park-like setting encouraging visitors to “stay awhile.”

Mike Meyers, Senior Principal/Project Director at Lifescapes International, explained the philosophy as creating multiple spaces in one overall space through the use of landscaping and hardscaping.

“Instead of having one, long pathway that causes you to look off into the distance, we have walkways that curve and turn corners. Multi-level landscaping that causes the viewer to step up their view and look around more,” he explained.

“In Belcourt Village, we’ll have what we call buffer zones  — an area where a family or small group can sit with landscaping around them to give them more of a private feeling, so they aren’t having a conversation out in the open.”

And in the age of working remotely, he said Belcourt Village will be an ideal destination.

“You’ll be able to go and have coffee, have lunch, meet a client, be on a call,” he said. “You’ll have open spaces and can easily move to a more private area when needed. And all without having to get in your car and drive somewhere.”

The pedestrian access and walkability are unique to Belcourt Village. Eittreim noted there won’t be a wall surrounding the center, it will have access from the Belcourt neighborhood via the existing trails and connect to the planned landscaped sidewalks and walkways.

“Bolthouse is really thinking outside the box,” Meyers said. “They are bringing something new to Bakersfield.”
