  • Next Phase Commences Development at Belcourt Village

Next Phase Commences Development at Belcourt Village

Seven Oaks is already one of the most desirable communities to call home in Bakersfield, but the impressive community is about to get even better as construction of phase two at Belcourt Village Seven Oaks begins.

On October 18th, Bolthouse Properties, along with neighboring residents and soon-to-be tenants, celebrated the groundbreaking of this next phase, sharing their vision for the overall center and its community gathering space.

As part of Bolthouse Properties’ Seven Oaks master-planned community, Belcourt Village has been designed as a destination center and gathering place — a place where neighbors meet for coffee, friends meet for lunch, and where families enjoy each other’s company after dinner.

“This is not a drive-thru shopping center,” said Bruce Davis, Bolthouse Properties Executive Vice President of Development. “This is a gathering space — intentionally planned and designed with the community in mind.”

At the southwest corner of White Lane and Buena Vista Road, Belcourt Village is being developed with open spaces that include seating and lounge areas, firepits, decorative lighting, enhanced landscaping, pedestrian linkage to surrounding neighborhoods, and specifically curated businesses that promote the “stay awhile” feeling.

“We want people to spend time there,” said Bolthouse Properties Vice President of Development Jeff Eittreim. “And that has a lot to do with the businesses in the center.”

It’s this vision that led Bolthouse to focus on specific kinds of businesses to partner with.

Belcourt Village is currently home to Starbucks and will soon include Electric Cycle Studio and Pilates Barre, which are gearing up to open their doors before the end of the year!

Phase two construction brings the addition of two buildings in the centers core, giving shape to the community gathering space, The Point. The Point is the space for special events and holiday celebrations while the surrounding buildings will be home to the iconic Blue Elephant, specializing in Thai cuisine; Gelato Smitten, an extension of the beloved Smitten brand; drybar, a locally owned installment of the “Just Blowouts.” franchise; and 19th Hole Bar & Grill, a family-owned restaurant to offer American-cuisine.

Additionally, a third building is being constructed as part of phase two to be home to Bakersfield’s first Chipotle drive-thru and Toastique, a gourmet toast company and locally owned franchise.

Mike Meyers, Senior Principal at Lifescapes International and landscape architect for Belcourt Village, explained the philosophy of creating multiple spaces in one overall space using landscaping and hardscaping.

“In Belcourt Village, we’ll have what we call buffer zones — an area where a family or small group can sit with landscaping around them to give them more of a private feeling, so they aren’t having a conversation out in the open.”

“You’ll be able to go and have coffee, have lunch, meet a client, be on a call,” he said. “You’ll have open spaces and can easily move to a more private area when needed. And all without having to get in your car and drive somewhere.”

The pedestrian access and walkability are unique to Belcourt Village as it will have access from the Belcourt Seven Oaks neighborhood via the existing trails and connect to the planned landscaped sidewalks and walkways.

“Bolthouse is really thinking outside the box,” Meyers said. “They are bringing something new to Bakersfield.”

The new businesses and The Point expect to open in late spring or early summer of 2023, with more yet to come.

  • Bolthouse Properties Set To Break Ground On A Community Gathering Space at Belcourt Village Seven Oaks

Bolthouse Properties Set To Break Ground On A Community Gathering Space at Belcourt Village Seven Oaks

Today, Bolthouse Properties is excited to announce the groundbreaking for The Point, the next phase of the Belcourt Village retail center within Seven Oaks.

The Point is the intersection of three classically designed retail buildings intentionally placed to create abundant open space and gathering areas between the new retail tenants. This unique space will include intimate outdoor seating, activity areas, central hardscape and landscape spaces for special events and holiday celebrations.

“There’s a lot of buzz about what’s happening at Belcourt Village! We’re excited to welcome the next phase of businesses to the center and to break ground on The Point. This area is designed as an extension of the trails and paseos of the surrounding community, to provide the growing Seven Oaks a unique space within their retail experience,” says Executive Vice President of Development, Bruce Davis.

Belcourt Village is currently home to Starbucks and will soon also be home to two local tenants, Electric Cycle Studio and Pilates Barre who are gearing up to open their doors before the end of the year!

The groundbreaking marks the beginning of phase two of Belcourt Village, which includes three new separate buildings and several new businesses to serve our community. Earlier this summer Bolthouse Properties was pleased to announce the first of the phase two tenants which include the iconic, Blue Elephant and Toastique, a gourmet toast company. Additionally, Bolthouse Properties is excited to add the following tenants to the list of those joining Belcourt Village!

    • 19th Hole Bar and Grill (a family-owned restaurant serving American cuisine)
    • Gelato Smitten (an extension of the iconic Smitten brand)
    • drybar Bakersfield (No Cuts. No Color. Just Blowouts.)
    • Chipotle ( the first drive-thru location in Kern County)

Phase two is expected to open in the first half of 2023. Limited tenant opportunities are still available within phase two of Belcourt Court.

Belcourt Village is a nine-acre destination lifestyle center that is a part of the Seven Oaks Master Plan and will further support Belcourt Seven Oaks and the neighboring residential communities.

  • Welcome to Bakersfield, Toastique!

    Welcome to Bakersfield, Toastique!

Get ready, Bakersfield! One of the nation’s fastest-growing healthy cafe franchises, Toastique is coming to Belcourt Village Seven Oaks! Toastique is a boutique gourmet toast and juice bar offering a fresh, chic, rustic experience that perfectly transitions from early on-the-go breakfast to corporate lunch to post sweat session fuel up.

Local franchise owners, Roger and Tammie Miller, a couple devoted to healthcare, are excited to introduce the healthy brunch offerings, smoothies, cold-pressed juices, and more to Bakersfield.

“Toastique screams quality in everything it does,” says owner, Roger Miller. Their emphasis on healthy living and creating food made with whole, healthy ingredients convinced us this would be a perfect fit for Bakersfield. Being in healthcare, Tammie and I are fully aware of the need to follow a healthy diet, unfortunately we recognize it’s not that easy. After a long day at work, it’s difficult for most families to go to the grocery store, pick up healthy ingredients, and come home and cook. These are struggles we face, and we know we are not alone. We’re excited to see Bakersfield embrace it as much as we have.”

Located at the corner of White Lane and Buena Vista Road, Toastique will be a welcomed addition to the vibrant and growing Seven Oaks community as a part of phase II for Belcourt Village and is scheduled to open in 2023.

“Like Belcourt Village, Toastique brings a fresh approach to Bakersfield. Their mission of making healthy eating exciting, simple to understand, easy to enjoy, and above all, accessible to everyone aligns with Bolthouse Properties’ vision to build a better community. As Roger and Tammie begin their journey, we are excited to support them,” said Executive Vice President of Development, Bruce Davis.

Over the coming months, the community can expect to hear more exciting revelations of Phase 2 for Belcourt Village as construction is expected to commence later this month.

More information on Toastique can be found at toastique.com and Instagram @toastique.

  • John Balfanz Homes Begins New Development in Belcourt Seven Oaks

John Balfanz Homes Begins New Development in Belcourt Seven Oaks

Following their land purchase in late 2020, John Balfanz Homes has begun building their next neighborhood in the distinguished Belcourt Seven Oaks community.

Located at White Lane and Buena Vista Road, Belcourt Seven Oaks opened in 2016 as a premier master-planned community with unique product offerings designed to promote a live-work-play lifestyle. Over the years, Bakersfield residents have overwhelmingly embraced the community. Building upon the initial success, the builders are excited to continue the next phase of development.

Tucked inside the heart of Belcourt Seven Oaks, Amberley will have a charming collection of single-family homes featuring Spanish, Traditional, Coastal Contemporary, and Prairie architectural styles. These four spacious floor plans will offer an array of customization options and range from 1,698 square feet to 2,616 square feet. Amberley is expected to open model homes for the community by the end of 2022. The gated neighborhood will be developed in three phases and will add an additional 144 homes to Belcourt Seven Oaks when complete.

“With this continued development, we are pleased that John Balfanz Homes can provide the needed inventory to meet the increased demand for new homes as the master-planned community continues to grow west. Amberley is designed with our buyers in mind, providing them with a variety of amenities to meet their active lifestyle,” said Greg Balfanz, Chief Executive Officer at John Balfanz Homes.

Bolthouse Properties is inspired by the success of Belcourt Seven Oaks and looks forward to the future development of the Seven Oaks master-planned community, with its many exciting new enhancements coming soon to our live-work-play community.

“At Bolthouse Properties, we feel privileged to work with high-quality home builders like John Balfanz Homes and Woodbridge Pacific Group. They are helping us shape the look and lifestyle of this outstanding community and as we continue our growth westward, we look forward to continuing our vision for “Building A Better Community,” said Bruce Davis, Executive Vice President at Bolthouse Properties.

  • Hello Stroll Seven Oaks!

    Hello Stroll Seven Oaks!

At Bolthouse Properties, we are delighted about the new name! After all, the new name fits right into the vision of the master plan community.

The Seven Oaks West Ming Specific Plan outlines a 25-year plan for future growth within the Seven Oaks Master Planned Community. A cornerstone to the plan is the miles of trails and paseos linking the residential villages with the community parks and retail centers as well as the office park. The Seven Oaks Master Planned Community provides pedestrians connectivity to shopping, entertainment and employment hubs which create a genuine live-work-play environment without the need to get in a car.

The multi-purpose trail was championed by, and later named after, Stephan J. DeBranch to provide connectivity to the businesses within the Seven Oaks Business Park and the Seven Oaks residential communities of Belcourt and Highgate. As the trail is developing, his dream is quickly becoming a reality. Cycling and walking enthusiasts can enjoy the outdoors as well as the convenience of numerous neighborhood and business access points to the multi-purpose trail.

Within the Belcourt Seven Oaks neighborhoods, Woodbridge Pacific Group (WPG) has adopted the same elements of the memorial trail, offering residents connectivity within their neighborhood. “The trail is a great amenity of Seven Oaks that provides recreation and links to retail centers and the Seven Oaks Business Park. WPG wanted to take it a step further by giving residents the ability to connect from within their neighborhoods, so they extended the trail into the interior streets and promenade,” said Jeff Eittreim, VP of Development at Bolthouse Properties.

With the recent addition of Valley Montessori Academy to the Seven Oaks Business Park, we have found the trail is being utilized by families for school drop-offs and pick-ups from neighboring Belcourt Seven Oaks. Additionally, neighboring residents and Seven Oaks Business Park occupants are often seen on the trail for a leisurely stroll or as they head to The Shoppes at Seven Oaks Business Park to grab a bite to eat.

As one of the first residents of Belcourt Seven Oaks, Shannon O’Brien shares, “On weekends, my husband and boys often walk through the paseo, and it takes us about 5 minutes from our home to get to Broken Yolk at Mustang Square and now Belcourt Village. We also have a neighborhood park and lagoon that we can walk to. Our favorite thing to do is see the ducks!”

The northern portion of the trail system connects through Castle & Cooke’s most recent development, Highgate Seven Oaks, linking the residential community and the Highgate elementary school. Ultimately, the trail will connect with the Kern River Bike Path, offering access along the Kern River. Castle & Cooke has continued embrace the connectivity of the trail system to benefit the current and future residents.

Although it is not linked by trails, the Grand Island Village at Seven Oaks has long been a destination that neighboring residents often stroll to in various ways and is something Heather Dewar of Dewar’s Ice Cream enjoys about the community’s values. “We have people in the neighborhood that come on their golf carts, on their bicycles, they bring their dogs. This truly generates a sense of community values,” shared Heather.

There are many aspects to our neighborhood that make us unique, one that often brings us together is the connectivity to many of the elements that make up our greater Seven Oaks. It slows down the pace and brings people together. This is something we truly value at Bolthouse Properties and look to incorporate throughout the master plan.
